Novagard Awarded Green Award in Innovation by Door and Window Market Magazine
Door and Window Market [DWM] magazine recently selected Novagard as a recipient of its annual Green Awards in the category of Innovation.
“We’re thrilled to win this award as ES&G is key to our continued success,” said Wanda Mroczek, VP of Quality and Compliance at Novagard. “We strive to innovate and deliver sustainable materials for our customers, comply with all global environmental regulations and laws, and minimize the use of hazardous materials within our products for the health and safety of our employees and customers.”
In the July/August edition of [DWM], the editor highlighted part of the reason we were selected: our R&D scientists are working to develop new products using raw materials that are stripped of Octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane (D4), Decamethylcyclopentasiloxane (D5) and Dodecamethylcyclohexasiloxane (D6) cyclics, making them safer for people during application and throughout the curing process.
Other eco-friendly initiatives Novagard is pursuing include:
- a mineral spirits filtering and recycling program as part of our manufacturing process with the goal of reducing consumption by 30%
- using soybean oil as a plasticizer in several products
- partnering with our cartridge provider to reduce the amount of plastic and to include more post-consumer plastic in the manufacturing of cartridges
We’re proud that Novagard products are Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) compliant in across all 50 states, are Proposition 65 compliant in CA, and are free of both polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).
We’re mindful of the impact our products have on our planet, and continue to innovate with products that improve productivity, including
- UV cured silicones that enable low energy consumption manufacturing
- NovaFlex Qwik-Set Low Migration Glazing sealant that transforms highspeed window manufacturing without solvents
