NovaBarrier LF1000 Liquid Applied Flashing
NovaBarrier LF1000 is a liquid applied hybrid flashing that conforms to irregular surfaces and fills gaps for a continuous air and water seal, outperforming traditional peel-and-stick flashing tapes.
NovaBarrier™ LF1000 is a liquid-applied flashing designed to help create a continuous air and water barrier around critical building envelope details. Unlike traditional flashing tapes, LF1000 conforms to irregular surfaces, fills gaps, and seals complex transitions to create a seamless layer of protection where leaks are most likely to occur.
Easy to apply by brush, roller, or trowel, LF1000 adheres to common construction materials and can be applied in damp conditions, helping keep projects moving despite changing weather. Its vapor-permeable formulation blocks unwanted air and water intrusion while allowing trapped moisture to escape, supporting healthier, longer-lasting wall assemblies.
Engineered for long-term performance, LF1000 remains permanently flexible to accommodate building movement, thermal expansion, and seasonal temperature changes without cracking or losing adhesion.

FAQs
What is NovaBarrier LF1000?
NovaBarrier LF1000 is a liquid applied hybrid flashing used as part of a weather resistant barrier system. It conforms to irregular surfaces and fills gaps to create a continuous air and water seal at rough openings, penetrations, and transitions.
How is liquid flashing different from peel-and-stick flashing tape?
Unlike traditional peel-and-stick flashing tapes, LF1000 conforms to irregular surfaces and fills gaps for a continuous, seamless air and water seal. It bonds to damp surfaces, requires no primer, and self seals around fasteners.
Can LF1000 be applied in wet weather?
Yes. LF1000 bonds to damp surfaces and cures in wet weather. It’s immediately rain ready after application, so there are no weather delays during install.
Does LF1000 require a primer?
No. LF1000 has primerless adhesion to most common transition materials used in residential and commercial construction.
What is LF1000 used for?
LF1000 is used for flashing at windows, doors, rough openings, fasteners, and other penetrations in the building envelope. It can also be used at transitions where a continuous air and water seal is needed.
Is LF1000 vapor permeable?
Yes. LF1000 is vapor permeable, allowing moisture vapor to move through the barrier. This helps surfaces dry more efficiently and reduces the risk of mold, wood decay, and corrosion behind the wall assembly.
What color and size does LF1000 come in?
LF1000 is available in black, packaged in 20 oz sausages.
What is the shelf life of LF1000?
LF1000 has an 18 month shelf life when stored according to manufacturer guidelines.
